
Mudcats Make Roster Move

Zebulon, NC -- The Florida Marlins have assigned LHP Chris Key to the Carolina Mudcats effective Tuesday, May 6th.
Key, a former 18th round draft choice in 2000 from San Jose State University, had spent the beginning of the 2003 season with the Jupiter Hammerheads in the Florida State League. Key compiled a record of 3-0 with a 1.47 ERA in 12 appearances.
In Key's career which spans 137 relief appearances, he is 19-6 with 14 saves and an ERA of 1.90. Key has fanned 195 hitters in 255 2/3 innings. In 2002, Key was 6-2 with four saves and an ERA of 1.63.
Key will join the Mudcats for tonight's series opener against the last-place Orlando Rays.
