NEWS & NOTES:

- About Last Night - The Mudcats snapped their six-game losing streak with an 11-3 win over Wilmington Tuesday night. Carolina scored six in the sixth to put it away. Jesus Aguilar was a home run shy of the cycle. Tony Wolters and Jeremie Tice both had a trio of hits and three RBI.

- Indians Player of the Week - Infielder Tony Wolters was named the Indians' MILB Player of the Week for May 21st. He hit .429 over the week with two doubles and an RBI. In his last nine games, Wolters has a .389 average with one home run and five RBI.

- A Matter of Runs - In five of the Mudcats' last seven victories, the team has scored nine or more runs. In their last 10 losses, they have failed to score more than five runs.

- Close Calls - Carolina enters today 5-10 in one run games, the worst percentage in the league (.333). The Mudcats have dropped the last three decided by one run.

- Money Arm- Reliever Shawn Armstrong added another scoreless inning to his resume on Tuesday night. The New Bern, N.C., native has allowed only two runs over 26 innings. He has recorded at least one strikeout in all 14 outings.

- On Base Update - Center fielder Tyler Holt had a base hit Tuesday to increase his on-base streak to 13 in a row. He has reached safely in 33 of his last 34 starts.
