WINSTON-SALEM, NC (May 30, 2012) - The Dash smacked two home runs to grab a 7-6 victory and a series victory over the Frederick Keys 7-6 Wednesday night at BB&T Ballpark.

Winston-Salem (31-20) recorded five of its seven runs on multi-run blasts. Brady Shoemaker plated two runs on a long ball off the bridge in right field in the third to tie the game 3-3. Trayce Thompson broke the tie with a three-run bomb in the fifth inning that rocketed over the outfield bar in left field.

Shoemaker finished 3-for-4 on the night, falling a triple shy of the cycle. He extended his league-leading hit total to 62 on the season. Shoemaker also leads the Dash with 34 RBI.

The Dash led by one run in the eighth when Michael Earley singled to reach base. Frederick reliever Clay Schrader threw an errant pick-off attempt to allow Earley to reach third. The two-run margin proved to be crucial in the ninth. Frederick (19-30) led off with two base hits and plated a run to make it a 7-6 game. Kyle Bellamy struck out Michael Flacco to lock down the win and record his fourth save of the season.

Winston-Salem starter Justin Collop (5-0) allowed three runs on five hits in five innings to earn his first win as a starter this season. Dating back to last season, Collop has won his last eight decisions.

The Keys scored first in the game and added one run in each of the first three innings. Frederick trailed by three after Thompson's home run in the fifth but added a run in the sixth and seventh to climb back into the game.

The Dash wrap up the series Thursday night when they send southpaw Spencer Arroyo (2-2, 5.51 ERA) to the mound. Frederick's starter has to yet to be announced. First pitch is slated for 7:00.
