Carolina Mudcats News Release
Zebulon, NC --- After nearly five innings and nearly two-and-a-half hours in rain delays, the Carolina Mudcats and Birmingham Barons were postponed Sunday afternoon at Five County Stadium.
The Barons were leading 2-1 with two outs in the top of the fifth before the field was covered.
There were two attempts during the rain session to pull the tarp, but both were greeted with new rain showers as the tarp was being folded.
None of the statistics will count from Sunday's game, which was not only the last game of the series with the Barons, but the final contest of the regular-season against Birmingham.
Carolina opens a four-game series against the Orlando Rays beginning Monday night at Five County Stadium at 7:15 PM ET.
