Mudbugs To Open Playoffs Tonight Vs. Eagles

LOVELAND, CO - The Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs' quest for the 2010 CHL Ray Miron President's Cup Championship begins tonight with their playoff opener against the Colorado Eagles. The Mudbugs and Eagles face-off in Game 1 of their second round playoff series at 8:05 pm tonight at the Budweiser Events Center, with Game 2 following tomorrow. Radio coverage for tonight's contest starts at 7:45 pm on News Radio 710 AM KEEL and the game will also be shown live online on CHL TV.
This series pits Bossier-Shreveport and Colorado against one another in the playoffs for the second straight year, following the Eagles' four-game triumph in last year's Northern Conference Semifinals. The Mudbugs defeated Colorado in five games in the first playoff series between the clubs back in 2006 to advance to the President's Cup Finals.
During the regular season, the 'Bugs went 1-1-1 against the Eagles, with all three games being decided by one goal. Travis Clayton scored the overtime game-winning goal as Bossier-Shreveport won 4-3 on January 30, finishing off a third period rally to take the last regular season meeting between the clubs.
After Games 1 and 2 this weekend in Colorado, the series will shift to Bossier City for Games 3, 4 and 5. Game 3 is set for Tuesday night at 7:05 pm at the CenturyTel Center, with Game 4 coming up on Thursday and Game 5 (if necessary) on Friday.
