Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs News Release

BOSSIER CITY, LA - The Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs are on a three game winning streak coming into Tuesday night's game against the Mississippi RiverKings at 7:05 pm at the CenturyTel Center . With back-to-back shutouts of Tulsa and Austin last week, Mudbugs goalies John DeCaro and Ken Carroll have not surrendered a goal in the last 132:29 of game time. Posting shutout wins in consecutive games is a feat Bossier-Shreveport had not accomplished since the 2001-2002 CHL season.

Carroll's shutout of Austin on Saturday night was also the 22nd of his CHL career, tying him with Rod Branch for the league record. Now in his seventh CHL season, Carroll is fifth in league history in wins and will break the all-time league record with his next shutout performance.

Now the Mudbugs turn their attention back to the Mississippi RiverKings. The Mudbugs lost the first three meetings with the 'Kings this year, but won the last contest by a final score of 3-1. The RiverKings are currently 7-2 and in second place in the Northeast Division. Bossier-Shreveport is still in fourth place at 3-5-1, but is starting to gain ground on the rest of the division.

Also at tonight's game, it's your last chance to bring canned and non-perishable foods to the game to benefit the Northwest Louisiana Food Bank. This is the final night of the Mudbugs food drive in conjunction with P.O.D.S. and the Northwest Louisiana Food Bank, so bring food to donate at tonight's game and help us fill up the P.O.D.S. portable storage units placed outside the CenturyTel Center for tonight's game.
