Tulsa Oilers News Release


The Tulsa Oilers host the Youngstown SteelHounds tonight. It is the 12^th straight road game for Youngstown, which has yet to play a home game this season.

*Records: *Oilers are 3-6-0 with 6 points in fourth place in the Northwest Division.

Youngstown is 10-0-1 for 21 points in first place in the Northeast Division.

*Season Series: *This is the first of four meetings between these two teams. Youngstown visits again on December 21^st , and the Oilers will travel there for games on January 4^th and 5^th .

*Recent Action: *the Oilers saw a third period rally come up one shot short in a 4-3 loss at Wichita on Saturday night. Youngstown defeated Rio Grande Valley on Sunday, 4-2. It was the third straight game Youngstown had given up only two goals. Youngstown is the only team in the CHL which has not lost a game in regulation time.

*Familiar Faces: *An off-season trade between these teams has Oilers right winger Jeff Christian facing his former team, while Bryan LaChapelle and Kurtis Dulle, who finished last season with the Oilers, return to Tulsa.

* *

*Clutch McCutcheon:* Center Warren McCutcheon made his Oilers debut last Saturday and became the fifth player this season to score a goal in his first game as an Oiler.

*Jumpin' Jesse:* Defenseman Jesse Baraniuk has joined the Oilers. He played last season with Huntsville of the Southern Professional Hockey League and Pensacola of the ECHL. He will wear uniform #33.

*Growing List: *this week the Oilers have added two more players to the injured reserve list. Center Brendon Hodge (knee) and defenseman Chris Barth (shoulder) join Brent McMann on the 14 day injured reserve list. Defenseman Andrew Derton remains on the 30 day injured reserve list.

*Next Up: *The Oilers travel to Oklahoma City for a 6:05 p.m. contest Sunday. Youngstown rounds out its 14 game road trip to start the season Friday at Mississippi and Saturday at Texas.
