Hounds Set New Franchise Record In Big Win

TULSA, OKLAHOMA - The Youngstown SteelHounds defeat the Tulsa Oilers by a score of 4-3 on Tuesday night. With this win the SteelHounds set a new franchise record for earning a standing point in 12 straight games. The Hounds are now 11-0-1 (23 points).

Tulsa scored first as David Beauregard scored at 7:55 to make it 1-0 after one period.

The Hounds answered back in the second as Eric Przepiorka scored off a pass from Petr Pohl at 5:46 to tie the game at one after two periods. Pohl had three assists for the game giving him a team leading 20 points coming from eight goals and 12 assists. Pohl currently has an eight game point streak.

In the third period Przepiorka scored his second of the game at 1:13 to put the Hounds up 2-1. Przepiorka had an assist to go with his two goals and was named the games first star.

David Beauregard scored his second of the game and fifth of the season at 6:14 to tie the game at two. Just 1:12 later Warren McCutcheon took the lead back for the Oilers with his second goal of the season to make it 3-2.

The Hounds fought back as Chris Shaffer scored his third goal of the season with 10:12 to play to tie the game at 3-3. Erik Johnson was able to get the game winner for Youngstown as he banged home a rebound off Petr Pohl to give the Hounds the 4-3 win. Johnson has three goals this season and has scored in two straight games.

The Hounds are now 11-0-1 (23 points) and remain in first place in the Northeast Division. The Hounds have two games left on this road trip as they battle the Mississippi RiverKings on Friday at 8:05. All the action is available on SteelHounds.com and AM600 WSOM.
