
Mudbugs Beat Back RiverKings in Bossier

(Bossier City, LA) -- Bossier-Shreveport beat the Mississippi RiverKings for the second time in the regular season on Saturday, October 25th by a score of 6-2.
Mississippi opened the scoring in the contest with a goal in the first period by Bobby Chaumont, whose second goal of the year gave the RiverKings a 1-0 lead at 2:08 of the period.
But Bossier-Shreveport answered with the next five goals, including two from Brett Smith, to take a 5-1 lead six minutes into the third period of play.
New acquisition Dallas Costanzo deflected a shot from Jeff Alcombrack at 13:22 into the net for the RiverKings' second goal of the night, making the score 5-2 Mudbugs, but Smith completed a three-goal hat-trick with less than two and a half minutes remaining for the final 6-2 score.
Ryan Mior was the winning goaltender for Bossier-Shreveport with a 16 save effort. Kevin Beech saw his record drop to 2-2-0 with a 14 save effort.
The RiverKings return home after splitting the weekend of road games, having beaten Oklahoma City 3-2 in a shootout Friday night. They'll play the Colorado Eagles Friday and Saturday night next week at the DeSoto Civic Center.
