Hawaiian Islanders News Release

HONOLULU – Tests on Hawaiian Islanders quarterback Darnell Arceneaux's right knee were negative during this morning's MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) scan meaning there was no ligament damage.

Arceneaux was injured in the fourth quarter of last Saturday's game when he replaced Shawn Withy-Allen during Hawaii's 43-41 loss to the Bakersfield Blitz. On the second play of the series, Arceneaux was hit and fell on his right knee.

Based on the diagnosis, Arceneaux could be available this weekend when Hawaii hosts the Louisville Fire this Saturday, July 17 at the Blaisdell Arena. This will be the final home game of the regular season. The Islanders (7-5) remain in contention for the West Division title but will need a Bakersfield loss in the next two week before the two teams meet in the final regular season game. Hawaii can still clinch a wild card spot if they win their final three games and if three of four teams (Quad City, Peoria, Louisville or Wichita) lose one of their remaining games.

Tickets for this Saturday's game are available at the Blaisdell Arena box office, TickerMaster outlets or via the Internet at www.ticketmaster.com. The Islanders will celebrate Fire Fighter Appreciation Night providing tickets to the Hawaii Fire Fighters Association. The JN Chevrolet Fast Lane to Fame features music by Natural Vibrations. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
