July 8, 2014 - Northwoods League (Northwoods)
Wisconsin Rapids Rafters News Release
Wisconsin Rapids, Wis.- Due to torrential rain that started in the bottom of the 4th, Monday's game between the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters and the Thunder Bay Border Cats was suspended until July 31st. The Rafters were in firm control with a 5-1 lead and a runner on second when the heavens opened up. Wisconsin Rapids had fallen behind in the top of the first but they rebounded with three of their own in the bottom half of the frame.
With the game unable to get through 5 innings, the game will be picked up and completed when the two teams meet up again on July 31st in Thunder Bay, Ontario. It will take place before the regularly scheduled game that will be shortened to seven innings. As for Monday's game, fans will be able to exchange their tickets for any other regular season in 2014. The main attraction for Monday, Whiplash the Cowboy Monkey, will stick around and be a part of Tuesday's bark in the park festivities presented by Quality Feed and Seed.
