Green Bay Rockers News Release
Green Bay, Wis. - The Bullfrogs (19-22, 2-4 Sec. Half) return home on Tuesday for a tough eight-game home stand featuring four different opponents. The Kalamazoo Growlers (14-27, 1-5 Sec. Half) make their second trip to Green Bay this season after being swept earlier in June. The Bullfrogs will face Battle Creek, Lakeshore, and Madison as well, with an off day a week away. In all, the home stand will feature eight games in nine days before Green Bay is back on the road.
The Bullfrogs hold a 12-9 record at home this season, including a 1-1 mark in the season's second half. After the home stand, the Bullfrogs will play just seven games at home for the remainder of the second half compared to fifteen games on the road.
Kalamazoo sits at 1-5 so far in the second half. The schedule has not been kind to the Growlers, facing Madison four times and Lakeshore twice. The Growlers have struggled on the road this season, entering Tuesday's game at 4-17.
The Bullfrogs will look to bounce back after losing two games in Mequon over the weekend. Lakeshore defeated Green Bay 8-3 on Sunday night, and 5-4 on Monday night. The Bullfrogs fell to 2-8 in one-run games this season. Ryan Koziol (Florida Gulf Coast) hit his first home run of the season on Monday and Matt Beaty (Belmont) extended his hitting streak to eleven games.
On Tuesday, Nathan Disch (Jacksonville) will make his first start of season for the Bullfrogs after making three appearances out of the bullpen. In 3.2 innings pitched, Disch has allowed no earned runs while surrendering three hits and two walks.
Kalamazoo will counter with southpaw Greyson Granger (Kalamazoo Valley CC). Granger has yet to make an appearance with the Growlers in the Northwoods League. At Kalamazoo Valley this past season, Granger accumulated a 4-3 record with a 2.08 ERA in 43.1 innings pitched.
First pitch on Tuesday night is scheduled for 7:05 pm from Joannes Stadium. It will be Star Wars Night at the ballpark on Tuesday. Kids twelve and under who wear a Star Wars costume to the game will receive a free ticket.
