
Mother Nature Halts Play Between Greeneville and Johnson City on Saturday Night

JOHNSON CITY - Mother Nature made her presence felt on Saturday night as the contest between the Greeneville Flyboys and Johnson City Doughboys was suspended in the bottom of the first inning with Greeneville leading 1-0.
The two teams will complete the contest on Sunday beginning at 4:30 p.m. at TVA Credit Union Ballpark. The Flyboys and Doughboys will then play a seven-inning contest following the completion of the first game.
Greeneville and Johnson City are tied for first in the Appalachian League West Division standings at 4-3. Kingsport is currently 3-4 on the season, while Elizabethton is 3-5 and Bristol 2-4.
Chris Williams would give Greeneville a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning after the Flyboys loaded the bases with a pair of singles. Homer Bush, Jr. opened the game with a single and would move to second following a single by Jonathan Hogart. Bush, Jr. scored as Williams grounded out to the third baseman to make it 1-0.
Following its two-game series against Johnson City, Greeneville returns to Pioneer Park on Tuesday, June 15th to host the Bristol State Liners for a pair of games.
