
Burlington Completes Series Sweep against Bristol

BURLINGTON, N.C. - Burlington sang in the rain for the second time in as many days, taking game two against Bristol by a score of 4-12. Bristol led off the first on an error by Cole Reynolds. Burlington came back to score two runs in the bottom of the inning, off of an Alex Haba triple, and a single by Oscar Serratos.
Outfielder Isaiah Adams followed with an RBI double to score Bayron Acevedo, and Marshall Raper scored Isaiah Adams. Oscar Serratos knocked in two more runs with an RBI double in the bottom of the second to increase the lead for the Puppets to 6-1.
Bristol hit a double and a RBI sac fly to cut the lead in half to 6-3. A single and a throwing error by Bristol first baseman Tate Kight secured three more runs for the Puppets to balloon their lead to 9-3. A passed ball in the fourth inning scored another run for the State Liners.
Kenny Carrillo pitched four innings, striking out seven and walking four.
Burlington put up three more runs in the bottom of the eighth before the game was suspended due to rain. Burlington ended the game with 12 runs on 12 hits. Bristol ended the night with 4 runs on 6 hits.
Burlington sweeps the series against Bristol and will take on the Pulaski River Turtles beginning Saturday who sit in last place in the East division.
Burlington improves to 4-4, and Bristol drops to 2-4 on the season.
