Lexington County Blowfish News Release
Martinsville, Va. (July 8, 2015) -- A combination of stolen bases and clutch hitting by the Martinsville Mustangs led to a 6-3 victory over the Lexington County Blowfish on Wednesday night at Hooker Field.
Martinsville's lone CPL All-Star Hank Morrison drove in three runs in the victory. Morrison scored in the first inning, laced a two-run single in the sixth, and added one more on a sacrifice fly in the eighth.

Lexington County added a run on a late rally. Howard Joe (Mercer University) laced a double, scoring Dalton Duty (University of Central Florida), and cutting the lead in half.
Martinsville second baseman Christian Hollie took over, robbing Danny Edgeworth (Mercer University) with a windmill grab on a line shot, and a fadeaway throw to record an out on Bennette Hill (Shelton State) to end the game.
The Blowfish struck first once again. Home Run Derby participant and CPL All-Star J.D. Crowe (Francis Marion) nailed an RBI double to score Deric Boone (Southern Union State) to jump out to a 1-0 lead. Martinsville would respond, adding three runs over the span of two innings.
Austin Garcia (Bethune-Cookman) delved into the lead with a double, extending his hitting streak to three games. He would later score on an error and trim what was a two-run Mustangs lead to one.
Paul Kirkpatrick earned his second win of the season for Martinsville, pitching eight innings, allowing two runs.
Boone (2-for-5) and Duty (2-for-3) had multi-hit games for the Blowfish. Lexington County pitching also went six innings for the third straight outing, as Trevor Hutto (USC-Aiken) pitched through six innings.
The Blowfish will return home to Lexington County Baseball Stadium on Friday to play the SwampDogs. Tickets for Princess Night, which will include a Prince and Princess Parade and postgame fireworks, are available by calling the box office at 803-254-FISH, online at blowfishbaseball.com, and at Blowfish on Main (101 East Main Street in Lexington, S.C.).
