FLINT, MI - The Flint Generals proudly announce the naming of John Mori as Rookie of the Week by the IHL for week eight of the 2009-10 season.
Following his performance in the month of November Mori received Rookie of the Month honors and with his 3 point game against Bloomington this past Friday, the league continues to recognize his great efforts. The points in the game against the PrairieThunder brought his point streak to 5 games, scoring 9 points in that span.
With his 15 points, Mori is closing the scoring gap on the team, moving in on Jamie Schaafsma's 19 points through 21 games. He is second in the league among rookies in scoring, is tops among rookies in goals scored with 8, and leads rookies in shots with 67.
Mori and the Generals return to play this Friday, December 11th in Bloomington for a 7:05 faceoff; they are 1-1-0-0 against Bloomington so far this season. They head to Moline, IL Sunday for a 4:05pm Matinee with the Quad City Mallards.
The team returns to Perani Friday, December 18th when the Port Huron IceHawks come to town as the Generals host a Toys for Tots drive.
