
IHL Announces Weekly Honors

ROCHESTER, MI--- The International Hockey League (IHL) announced Monday that Muskegon right wing Robin Bouchard has been named the IHL Player of the Week, Flint right wing John Mori has been named the IHL Rookie of the Week and Muskegon goaltender Sebastien Centomo has been named the IHL Goaltender of the Week for the period ending Sunday, December 6th, 2009.
Bouchard completed the week registering four points in two games played. He had back-to-back multi-point nights, tallying two goals Friday in the Lumberjacks 3-0 win over Port Huron and having two assists in the 6-2 victory against Quad City. The 36-year-old Jonquiere, Quebec native currently leads the league in points, recording 35 points (17 goals, 18 assists) in 20 games played so far this season. Bouchard is third in the IHL in plus/minus with a plus-20 and is just five assists away from reaching number 700 in his professional career. Â Other players nominated for the IHL Player of the Week include: Bloomington forward Bill Bagron, Dayton defenseman Nathan Oke, Flint right wing John Ronan, Fort Wayne center Leo Thomas, Port Huron center Nick Lindberg and Quad City right wing Patrick Levesque. Â Mori wrapped up Week Eight of his rookie season recording three points in two games played. All three of his points came Friday in the Generals 5-2 win over Bloomington. He scored one goal on the Generals power play and dished out two assists, with one of them also on the man advantage. Mori had his five game goal and point streak snapped Sunday in the 3-2 overtime loss in Fort Wayne Sunday. He scored a total of five goals and five assists during the streaks. The 23-year-old Westport, Connecticut native is currently leading all IHL rookies in goals scored with eight and is tied for second in scoring with 15 points (8 goals, 7 assists) in 21 games played. Â Other players nominated for the IHL Rookie of the Week include: Bloomington defenseman Jesse Dudas, Dayton forward Sam Bloom, Fort Wayne right wing Tomas Klempa, Muskegon left wing Mark Cody, Port Huron defenseman Adam Maccarone and Quad City center Justin White. Â Centomo finished the week undefeated with a 2-0-0-0 record. He began the week by turning aside all 20 shots he faced against Port Huron Friday to earn his 19th professional shutout of his career. He then stopped 22 of 24 shots faced the following night in the 6-2 win over Quad City. Centomo had 101:10 of shutout hockey, spanning over five consecutive periods. He finished the week with a .955 save percentage and a 1.00 goals against average. The 28-year-old Laval, Quebec native is riding a seven game winning streak, having a 1.81 goals against average and a .920 save percentage during that span. He is currently first among IHL goaltenders in goals against average (2.26) and in wins (9). Â Other goaltenders nominated for the IHL Goaltender of the Week include: Bloomington's Paulo Colaiacovo, Dayton's Derek MacIntyre, Flint's Rob Nolan, Fort Wayne's Tim Haun, Port Huron's Adam Russo and Quad City's Kyle Jones.
