Idaho Steelheads News Release
Boise, ID (11/20/12) - Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Brad Ralph announced a series of roster moves Tuesday afternoon for the ECHL's Idaho Steelheads.
First of all, goaltender Josh Robinson has been sent back to Idaho by Texas of the American Hockey League. Robinson, who is under contract with Texas, was called up on November 12. He didn't appear in any games with Idaho's AHL affiliate but did dress as the backup goaltender for one game. The rookie out of Michigan Tech is 5-0-1 in six appearances with Idaho and ranks among the ECHL league leaders in save percentage (.920, 5th). He won ECHL Goaltender of the Week honors in October after winning his first two professional starts at Colorado.
The Stars have also called up defenseman Hubert Labrie (hue-BEAR luh-BREE) from Idaho. The second-year pro, also under contract with the Stars organization, scored his first goal of the season on Sunday in Stockton and has appeared in 13 of Idaho's 15 games this season.
Idaho (ECHL) and Texas (AHL) are the primary development affiliates of the NHL's Dallas Stars. The American Hockey League is the highest level of minor-league hockey in North America.
Ralph also announced that the Steelheads have released rookie forward Ron Meyers.
Robinson is expected to be available to play Wednesday when the Steelheads Alaska Aces at 7 PM in Boise. Tickets are available by contacting the CenturyLink Arena box office at 208.331.8497.
