
Orlando Ends Home Stand with 4-3 Loss

Orlando, FL - The Solar Bears closed out their seven-game home stand with a 4-3 loss at the hands of the Kalamazoo Wings at the Amway Center on Tuesday night.
RW Chris Lawrence opened up the scoring with a power play goal 14:36 into the first period. D Bryce Lampman intercepted a pass in the neutral zone and found C Mathew Sisca on the right wall. Sisca floated a saucer pass to Lawrence, who snapped a shot into the right corner of the net and put the Solar Bears ahead 1-0. Kalamazoo was able to answer with under two minutes remaining in the period, as F Steven Anthony's centering pass deflected off of G John Curry and slid across the goal line to make it 1-1 heading into the first intermission.
Kalamazoo potted two goals in 1:16 to start the second frame. F Kory Karlander made a quick move in front of the net to slide a puck into the back of the cage :43 seconds in, and it was followed up with a one-time shot from F Dustin Cloutier to increase the Wings lead to 3-1. LW Nick Petersen brought Orlando back to within one goal at 13:25 when he wristed a shot from the slot while on the power play. Before the end of the frame, however, F Eric Kattelus picked the top left corner of the net with 2:17 to play in the second, and the Wings led 4-2 at the end of the the frame.
Orlando scored the only goal in the third period when F Kevin Baker scored at 4:54 with an assist by D Michael Wilson. It was not enough for the Solar Bears to take the game, as the period came to a close with Kalamazoo collecting a 4-3 win over Orlando.

Notes:
F Ryan Ginand and LW Nick Petersen returned to the Solar Bears lineup after missing the last two games while on recall to the Houston Aeros (AHL). Petersen had a goal in the game... The Solar Bears ended their seven game home stand tonight... Orlando lost for the first time when scoring the game's first goal. They are now 5-1-0-0 under those circumstances... The Solar Bears play their next five games on the road before returning to the Amway Center on Friday, December 7, at 7:00 p.m.
