Twenty-year-old centre Ryan Seymour will wear the Captain's "C" for the Halifax Mooseheads this season, Head Coach Cam Russell announced today.

"Ryan Seymour has been a captain in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League for the past two years and possesses all the qualities to lead the Mooseheads," Russell said.

"Ryan has already earned the respect of his teammates during the preseason for the way he stands up for them and for the attitude he brings to the rink every day.

"Ryan always gives 100%, both during the games and also at practice and in the dressing room."

Seymour was acquired by the Mooseheads in a June 9, 2006 trade from the Acadie-Bathurst Titan. He has 13 goals and 24 assists in 183 QMJHL games.

At the same time, Russell has confirmed that 20-year-old defenceman Luciano Lomanno and 19-year-old forward Bryce Swan will act as assistant captains.

"We are happy to honor Lomanno and Swan for their commitment and dedication to the Halifax Mooseheads," Russell added. "Both have shown the ability to be leaders, both on and off the ice, and we look forward to having them convey this commitment and dedication to our younger players."

Lomanno, who was drafted in the third round of the 2003 QMJHL Entry Draft by Halifax, has played in 178 games during three seasons with the Mooseheads, accumulating 11 goals and 35 assists.

Swan, drafted by the Mooseheads in round four of the 2004 QMJHL Entry Draft, now entering his third season as a Moosehead, has 17 goals, 14 assists in 70 games.

A third assistant captain will be named at a later date.
