Fog Devils Name Captain

St. John's Fog Devils News Release
The St. John's Fog Devils announced today the defenceman, Zach Firlotte, has been named the captain of the 2006-07 team. He becomes the second captain in franchise history after Scott Brophy wore the "C" during the club's inaugural season.
Firlotte was one of the club's leader on and off the ice last season. He finished last season with 39 points (8G,31) and 173 penalty minutes in 63 games.
The Fog Devils also named its Assistant Captains with Wes Welcher, Luke Gallant and Matt Fillier wearing the "A"'s. The club has finalized its roster to start the season after releasing forward Justin-Michael Stewart earlier this week.
Some of the highlights of the 2006-07 Opening Night roster include:
- The roster includes 15 returning players
- The roster includes 8 rookies
- The roster includes 8 Newfoundlanders
- The club's average weight is 188lb (not including the 2 goaltenders)
- The club's average age is 17.8
Enclosed is the current roster and the club's preseason scoring. The Fog Devils finished the Preseason with a 2-3-0 record after a 3-game Atlantic roadtrip last weekend.
Tickets for the Fog Devils Home Opener on September 15th are currently on sale at the Mile One Stadium Box Office. The St. John's Fog Devils are the newest member of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League and are one of 58 member clubs of the Canadian Hockey League.
