The Moncton Wildcats scored first but it was the Halifax Mooseheads winning the hockey game by a 2-1 margin.
Simon Jodoin got the Cats on the scoreboard at 15:35 of opening period with a power-play goal, David Savard and Matt Bissonnette getting the assists.
In the middle frame, the Mooseheads evened the contest at 1:34 with Gerrad Grant's goal, Knotek added an assist. The game's winning goal was netted by Garrett Clarke at 14:37, Grant and Hannay set up the play.
No scoring in the final frame, the Wildcats pressured to get the equalizer but were forced to kill off a penalty with just over two minutes remaining. The Mooseheads missed four chances to score into the empty Moncton goal.
Final shots on goal were 37-33 for the Wildcats. Both teams were 1 for 5 on the power play.
Halifax picked up the three stars, goalie Mathieu Corbeil was the first star, Gerrad Grant was the second star and former Wildcat Paul Dimitruk was star number three.
Next game for the Wildcats will be next Friday night when they host the PEI Rocket in a 7 o'clock contest at the Coliseum.
