Moose Sign Schroeder To ATO

The Manitoba Moose today announced they have signed centre Jordan Schroeder to an amateur tryout contract.

Schroeder, 19, appeared in 72 career games with the University of Minnesota over the span of two seasons. In that time, the Burnsville, MN native collected 73 points (22g & 51a) while racking up 43 penalty minutes. In this past season with the Golden Gophers, Schroeder was second on his team leaderboard in scoring with 28 points and lead the club in assists with 19. He was also named the Rookie of the Year for 2009 by the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.

The right-handed centre played for the American national junior ice hockey team and appeared in three World Junior Championships, setting a record for career points by an American in the tournament with 27 points (19g & 7a).

Schroeder was a first round draft pick by the Canucks, 22nd overall, in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
