Moore Is TL Player Of The Week

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark -Jeremy Moore has been named the Texas League Player of the Week for the dates August 16 through August 22. The 23-year old outfielder becomes the first Travs position player to win the league's weekly award. During a six-game rampage, Moore led the Texas League with 13 base hits while spurring the Travs to a 4-2 record.

Moore was 13-for-23 (.565 avg) at the plate during the week adding one double and a home run plus two triples for a grand total of 21 bases over six games. In each of his team's four victories during the week, Moore knocked in the winning run twice and scored the winning run in the other two. He also totaled six runs batted in, five runs scored and three stolen bases while making a few standout plays in the field.

Currently on an eight-game hitting streak, Moore ranks amongst the top ten in the Texas League in ten offensive categories since June 1 including 2nd in batting average (.357) and base hits (91), 3rd in slugging percentage (.569) and OPS (.977). The sixth round draft choice of the Angels in the 2005 draft leads the Texas League with nine triples putting him one three-base hit away from a third consecutive year with at least ten doubles, ten triples and ten home runs.

Heading into Monday's series finale at Corpus Christi, Moore's .310 batting average ranks sixth in the Texas League adding 12 home runs and 56 runs batted in.
