Montreal Recalls Mikhail Grabovski From Hamilton

MONTREAL, QC - Montreal Canadiens General Manager Bob Gainey announced today that forward Mikhail Grabovski has been recalled from the Hamilton Bulldogs of the American Hockey League. Grabovski will join the Canadiens today and will be available for tonight's game against the Atlanta Thrashers.

Grabovski, 24, has appeared in 12 games with Hamilton this season, posting eight goals, 12 assists, 20 points, a plus-2 rating and six penalty minutes. The native of Potsdam, Germany, who missed 25 games due to an ankle injury, was named the Rbk/AHL Player of the Week for the period ending February 17th, 2008 and was named first star in five consecutive games from February 15th - 20th.

Prior to that, the 5-foot-11, 183-pound centreman picked up a goal and an assist with four penalty minutes in 12 games with Montreal this season. Grabovski recorded his first-career NHL point, an assist, on October 20th against the Buffalo Sabres, and scored his first-career NHL goal on October 22nd versus the Boston Bruins.

Grabovski was selected by Montreal in the 5th round, 150th overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.

The defending Calder Cup Champion Hamilton Bulldogs return to the ice tomorrow night (Wednesday, February 27th) at 7:30 p.m. when they host the Grand Rapids Griffins at Copps Coliseum.
