PORTLAND, ME - Jay Leach netted a goal against his former teammates mere hours after practicing alongside them, as his Portland Pirates (34-19-2-4) scored five unanswered goals to defeat the Norfolk Admirals (21-31-2-5) 5-1 on Tuesday night at the Cumberland County Civic Center.

A Norm Milley shorthanded tally put the Admirals on top with their first shot of the game. Milley and Karl Stewart broke in two-on-one on Portland goaltender Mike McKenna. Milley sent a wrist shot from the top of the right faceoff circle that eluded McKenna at 5:18 of the first period.

Portland tied the game at 1-1 just over five minutes later. Tyler Bouck sent a wraparound shot inside the left post and past the outstretched left leg of Norfolk netminder Jonathan Boutin at 10:26.

The Pirates took the lead with two second stanza markers. Drew Miller netted a goal off a rebound 1:53 into the period. Former Admiral Jay Leach potted the rebound of an Andrew Ebbett shot at 12:15.
