Records: Monterey Bay F.C. (4-8-0, 12 points); San Antonio FC (9-3-0, 27 points)
Head-to-Head: San Antonio FC has the early all-time advantage over Monterey Bay F.C. after securing victory in the lone match between the sides to date on April 30. Because the previous match was played in the Lone Star state, however, it will be the first meeting between the two club's at the home of the Crisp and Kelp, Cardinale Stadium.
Connections: San Antonio FC defender Carter Manley shares connections with several members of Monterey Bay Football Club. While at Rio Grande Valley FC for the 2020 and 2021 campaigns, Manley shared the pitch with both Monterey Bay F.C. midfielder James Murphy and defender Grant Robinson. Before that, Manley played on loan for USL League One side Forward Madison FC, where he was teammates with current Union defender Jiro Barriga Toyama.
Lastly, a year prior to Manley's time in Madison, both Murphy and Manley spent time at Las Vegas Lights FC on loan stints in 2018. In a separate connection between the clubs, San Antonio FC defender Shannon Gomez was teammates with Monterey Bay goalkeeper Rafael Díaz at Sacramento Republic FC for four seasons from 2018-2021.
Notes: In what will be the second and final regular season meeting with San Antonio FC this season, the Union will look to avenge its earlier loss to the Texas side near the end of April and get back on track after falling at home last week. Monterey Bay F.C. is 2-2-0 all-time at home, while San Antonio FC is 35-41-21 all-time on the road.
