December 10, 2015 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Cleveland Monsters News Release
CLEVELAND - The Force Awakens this Saturday when Cleveland's Lake Erie Monsters bring you Star Wars Night at Quicken Loans Arena. The Monsters will host a Star Wars-themed game this Saturday, December 12, at 7:30 p.m., when the team takes on the Chicago Wolves one week prior to the highly-anticipated release of the next chapter of the Star Wars franchise, 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens.' The Monsters will wear special jerseys during the game that feature a Stormtrooper-inspired design from the Star Wars films.
The Monsters' Stormtrooper jerseys, the first of five specialty jersey designs for the Monsters this season, will be highly sought after by both Star Wars enthusiasts and hockey fans alike and will be auctioned off to fans both during and after Friday's game. The Monsters are excited to provide 100% of the auction proceeds to benefit Toys for Tots.
"We were excited to join forces with Lucas Films to create this exciting promotion for our fans," said Lake Erie Monsters COO, Mike Ostrowski. "It's even better that we get to raise funds for a great organization like Toys for Tots at the same time."
Monsters fans will have the opportunity to bid on the team's jerseys in a variety of ways. Fans can stop at The Monsters Community Corner at The Q during the game to participate in a silent auction, stay for a live, post-game auction, or place their bids via an online auction on lakeeriemonsters.com/auction beginning Friday morning at 10:00 am.
