Despite mustering 34 shots on goal, the Lake Erie Monsters (21-17-4-3) were held off the scoreboard Saturday night, falling 4-0 to the Hamilton Bulldogs (23-18-6-0) before a Quicken Loans Arena crowd of 12,272. Hamilton's Daniel Carr broke the scoreless tie at 17:38 of the first period when he took a stretch pass from Charles Hudon, streaked in behind the Monsters defense, and sent a backhand top-shelf to beat Calvin Pickard for the eventual game-winning tally.

After a scoreless second period, the Bulldogs added three more goals in the third period. Carr, Nick Sorkin, and Hudon scored for the Bulldogs in the final frame, sending the Monsters to a 4-0 defeat.
