After scoring the first four goals of the game, the Midwest Division leading Milwaukee Admirals (29-14-3-4) never surrendered the lead, handing the Lake Erie Monsters (22-19-4-3) a 5-2 loss Sunday afternoon at the BMO Harris Bradley Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Karl Stollery and Gabe Beaupre scored for the Monsters. Next up for the Monsters: they will have a rematch in Milwaukee Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. Eastern.

Kevin Fiala opened the scoring for Milwaukee when he took a pass in the slot, delayed, and sent a puck past the shoulder of Monsters goalie Sami Aittokallio at the 13:45 mark of the first period. Milwaukee extended their first period lead to 2-0 when Triston Grant scored at the 15:52 mark on a shot through traffic from the high slot.

Milwaukee surged to a 4-0 lead in the second period with goals from Sissons at 2:05 and Fiala at 16:50 of the frame before Karl Stollery put the Monsters on the board, cutting the Milwaukee lead to 4-1. Ben Street's attempted centering pass from the right corner bounced off a defender and into the right circle where Stollery quickly sent a slapshot past the glove side of Milwaukee goalie Magnus Hellberg at 18:21 of the period. Stollery's fifth goal of the season was assisted by Street and Troy Bourke.

Gabe Beaupre pulled the Monsters to within a pair, scoring top-shelf on a wrist shot from the right point at 4:16 of the third period. Joey Hishon and Bourke assisted on the goal, which was the first of the season for Beaupre. Milwaukee regained a three-goal lead when Viktor Arvidsson scored an empty-netter with 2:35 remaining, putting the Admirals on top 5-2.

Sami Aittokallio made his first start in net for the Monsters since December 13th, and stopped 25 of 27 in the loss; he is 5-4-1. Magnus Hellberg stopped 25 of 27; he is 14-5-3 after the win.
