(MONCTON, NB) The Windsor Express (4-4) dropped their first game of a three game stretch to the Moncton Miracles (3-5), with a final score of 120-119.

Tony Bennett starts off the game with a three pointer to give the Express an early lead.

Midway through the quarter, a three pointer from Brandon Robinson puts the Express in the lead, 21-8. The free throw line would bring the Miracles back in the game, and cut the Express lead into the single digits. The Express close out the first quarter with a 37-32 lead.

Windsor started the second quarter with a missed free throw from Ljubisa Vrcelj, but a three pointer from Chris Matthews would keep them in the lead, 41-34. A pair of free throws from Tyler Murray would give Moncton their first lead of the game, 43-42 at the 8:39 mark.

Windsor came back, and just after the midway point of the quarter, had a 4 point lead over Moncton, 53-49. A back and forth contest with possessions brought Moncton back within 3, but Windsor started to pull away after a layup from Maurice Bolden. Windsor would go into the half with a 71-66 advantage.

The Express started the first half of the quarter on a strong note, with a basket from Maurice Bolden to maintain the lead. The game changer for the Miracles was a forced turnover from James Justice, which resulted in a three point play to close the gap to only 3, 84-81 with six minutes left in the quarter. The Miracles outshot the Express 26-24 in the third, but the Express would finish the quarter with a 95-92 lead.

Brandon Robinson starts off the last quarter with a dunk to keep Windsor in the lead, but Tydran Beaty drains a three to tie the score at 97 for both teams. By the middle of the quarter, Tydran Beaty hits a jumper to give Moncton the lead for the second time, 105-104.

In the last five minutes of the game, it was a back and forth contest between both teams. Chris Commons hit a deep three to give Windsor a 1 point lead, 116-115 with 1:55 remaining. It was not enough, as Moncton went back to the line four more times, and would secure the win, 120-119.

Chris Commons led all scorers with a game high 31 points, and added 10 rebounds for a double-double.

Brandon Robinson put up 27 points of his own. Maurice Bolden added 24 points and grabbed 11 rebounds (game high) making this his second double-double in a row.

Seven Miracles players had double digit points in tonight's win, with James Justice leading in scoring with 26 points. Tydran Beaty also added 15 points of his own.

The Windsor Express will head to Charlottetown on Friday, January 15th to take on the Island Storm at the Eastlink Centre, for a 6:00pm EST/7:00pm AST game start.

The Express will be back at The WFCU Centre on Sunday, January 10th to host the Orangeville A's for a 2:00pm game start.
