(Halifax, NS): The Saint John Mill Rats ground out a huge road win over the division-leading Halifax Hurricanes, 105-100.

Hurricanes trailed the Mill Rats 23-27 after the first quarter, and at halftime the the Mill Rats led 48-47 on two free throws by Doug Herring with .7 on the clock.

The Hurricanes outscored the Mill Rats 32-25 in the third quarter, and took a 79-73 lead at the end of the third quarter.

In the fourth quarter, the Mill Rats outscored the Hurricanes 32-21 to earn the victory over the Hurricanes. The run was capped off by a beautiful assist from Doug Herring Jr out to a wide open Corey Allmond, who calmly drained the triple to give Saint John a 103-98 with 30 seconds remaining.

The game's tip off was delayed 1 hour to 8PM due to weather and mechanical problems with the team bus. The Mill Rats were able to shake the rust off and be competitive despite adversity.

Anthony Stover was huge for the Mill Rats with 14 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 blocks. Gabe Freeman scored 25 points and grabbed 14 rebounds. Doug Herring Jr had 24 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists. Corey Allmond scored 16 including 13 in the second half. Anthony Anderson had 10 points. Mike Glover scored 25 points for Halifax.

Halifax Hurricanes Visits Saint John Tonight

The Hurricanes make the trek to Saint John on Thursday to face the Mill Rats at Harbour Station at 7PM.
