
Mill Rats Defeat Hurricanes at Harbour Station

Halifax, (NS) - The Halifax Hurricanes Basketball Club were in action again on January 14th at the Harbour Station against the Saint John Mill Rats. In back to back matchups the Hurricanes fell 91-98 to the Mill Rats. The Hurricanes now have a record of 6-3 and have lost two games in a row for the first time this season. With this win, the Mill Rats have a record of 6-4 and are in second place in the Atlantic Division.
Hurricanes led the Mill Rats 27-23 after the first quarter, and at halftime the Hurricanes trailed the Mill Rats 39-42. The Hurricanes were outscored by the Mill Rats 19-26 in the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, the Hurricanes outscored the Mill Rats 33-30, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory over the Mill Rats.
Forward, Anthony Criswell led the Hurricanes with 21 points and 13 rebounds. Guard, Justin Johnson scored 15 points and had 8 assists. Guard, Joel Friesen scored 15 points. Center, Kyle Hunt scored 14 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. Forward, Billy White scored 13 points.
Guard, Doug Herring Jr led the Mill Rats with 22 points. Forward, Jean-Richard Volcy scored 19 points. Guard, Corey Almond scored 18 points. Forward, Anthony Stover scored 8 points for the Mill Rats.
The Hurricanes continue the 4 game road trip when they face the Moncton Miracles Sunday January 17th at the Moncton Coliseum.
