
Halifax Hurricanes Re-Sign Jordan Washington

Halifax, N.S. - The Halifax Hurricanes presented by Eastlink have re-signed Jordan Washington of Newark, New Jersey. The 23-year-old power forward played for the Hurricanes in the NBL Canada 2018/19 season.
Washington started his college career with Indian Hill Community College and was picked up by Iona College in New Rochelle, New York after two seasons. The power forward played his junior and senior seasons with the Iona Gaels starting a total of 66 games and averaging 14.23 and 17.97 PPG respectively.
In the 2018/19 season with the Canes Washington averaged 13.7 PPG and shot 51% from the field. He saw a season high of 30 PTS in a playoff game vs the Cape Breton Highlanders while shooting 60% from the field in a 110-86 victory on April 7.
"I'm happy to be back and around people that care for their team and their hometown," says Washington. "I'm super excited to be a Halifax Hurricane again and I want to thank Mike Leslie for bringing me back and believing in me again."
Washington's first game back will be at Avenir Centre vs the Moncton Magic in Moncton Sunday, February 22 at 2 pm. He will return to Scotiabank Centre on Tuesday, February 25 as the Hurricanes take on the Moncton Magic again at 7 pm. His arrival is just in time for the Hurricanes First Responders Night where they will honour first responders on Wednesday, February 26 vs the KW Titans at 7 pm.
