ATLANTIC DIVISION/EASTERN CONFERENCE FINALS HIGHLIGHTS
At Providence (5/14): Center Marty Murray's two assists and goaltender Jason LaBarbera's 27 save effort lifted the Manchester Monarchs past the Providence Bruins 2-1 to win the 2007 Calder Cup Atlantic Division Championship Series four games to two at the Dunkin' Donuts Center on Monday night. Center Brian Boyle and right wing Tim Jackman scored for the Monarchs. Right wing Jeff Hoggan tallied the lone goal for the Bruins. Goaltender Hannu Toivonen took the loss with 25 saves. Manchester went 1-for-5 on the power play. Providence was 0-for-4 with the man advantage.
At Hershey (5/19): Seven goals by five different players lifted the Hershey Bears over the Manchester Monarchs 7-2 in game one of the 2007 Calder Cup Eastern Conference Final at the Giant Center on Saturday night. Left wings Matt Moulson and Jeff Giuliano scored for the Monarchs. Center Dave Steckel (2), right wing Scott Barney, defenseman Mike Green, left wing Chad Wiseman and center Kyle Wilson (2) tallied for the Bears. Monarchs goaltender Jason LaBarbera made 27 saves in 51 minutes before being replaced by netminder Barry Brust who stopped three shots. Bears goaltender Frederic Cassivi stopped 26 shots for the win. Manchester went 0-for-6 on the power play. Hershey was 3-for-6 with the man advantage.

At Hershey (5/20): Defenseman Mike Green tallied twice to lead the Hershey Bears past the Manchester Monarchs 4-1 in game two of the 2007 Calder Cup Eastern Conference Final at the Giant Center on Sunday night. The Monarchs lone goal came off the stick of center Patrick O'Sullivan. Centers Kyle Wilson and Matt Hendricks joined Green in scoring for the Bears. Monarchs goaltender Jason LaBarbera took the loss with 22 saves. Bears netminder Frederic Cassivi stopped 30 shots in the win. Manchester went 1-for-14 on the power play. Hershey was 2-for-7 with the man advantage.

The Monarchs beat the Worcester Sharks and the Providence Bruins to win the Atlantic Division Championship and advance to the Eastern Conference Final for the first time in team history.

The Monarchs have set new all-time playoff records for the most wins in a playoff season (8), home playoff wins (4), most road playoff wins (4), most goals in a playoff season (40), the most losses in a playoff season (6), the most road losses in a playoff season (4), the most power play goals in a playoff season with 12, the most power play goals against in a playoff season with 18, the most penalty minutes in a playoff season (226), the most penalty minutes by an opponent in a playoff season (264), the most shots on goal for a playoff season with 423 and the most shots on goal by the opponent in a playoff season with 460.
Manchester tied the record for the most shorthanded goals in a playoff season with one against the Bruins on Wednesday, May 9.
The Monarchs are ranked 12th in the league on the playoff power play going 12-for-98 for 12.2-percent.
Manchester is 14th on the penalty kill going 69-for-88 for 78.4-percent.
In 14 post-season games, 15 different Monarchs players have tallied goals: forwards Patrick O'Sullivan (8), Marty Murray (6), John Zeiler (3), Jeff Giuliano (3), Matt Ryan (2), Brian Boyle (2), Tim Jackman (2), Matt Moulson (2), Petr Kanko (1), Noah Clarke (1), Shay Stephenson (1) and Gabe Gauthier (1) and defensemen Peter Harrold (2), T.J. Kemp (2) and Oleg Tverdovsky (2).
O'Sullivan (8-7=15) leads the team with eight goals and 15 points, the most by a Monarchs player in both categories for a playoff season.
O'Sullivan's eight goals are ranked second in the AHL.
O'Sullivan's 15 points are tied for fourth best in the league
Murray ranks second on the Monarchs squad with 13 points (6-7=13).
Murray's plus/minus of plus-9 leads the team and is tied for first in the league.
Tverdovsky's (2-9=11) 11 points are tied for third place among defensemen in the AHL.
Tverdovsky's nine assists lead the Monarchs and is tied for sixth place in the AHL.
Tverdovsky's nine assists also gives him the lead for the most assists in a playoff season by a Monarchs player.
Harrold is ranked fourth on the Monarchs squad with 10 points (2-8=10).
Boyle scored his first game-winning goal in double overtime on Saturday, April 28 to advance the Monarchs into the second round of the playoffs for the first time in team history. The rookie center has eight points (3-5=8) in 14 games so far in the playoffs.
Zeiler tallied the game-winning goal in the Monarchs 5-2 win on Wednesday, April 18 and the double overtime game-winning goal in the 4-3 victory on Friday, April 20, both against Worcester. He is the only Monarchs player to tally two game-winning goals in one playoff season.
Clarke leads the Monarchs all-time with nine goals and 17 points in 33 playoff games from 2004-present.
Clarke also shares the team's lead for all-time playoff power play goals of four with right wing Adam Mair.
Giuliano's shorthanded goal on Wednesday, May 9 tied the Monarchs record for shorthanded goals in a season with one. Defenseman Chris Schmidt (2004-05) and right wing Pavel Rosa (2003-04) are the only other Monarchs to have scored shorthanded goals in the playoffs.
Jackman has scored the first goal of the game twice in the 2007 Calder Cup playoffs which ties him with Mair (2001-02) for the most first goals of the season.
Monarchs goaltender Jason LaBarbera has played in 11 playoff games this season. He has collected six wins, five losses, one shutout, a goals-against-average of 2.72 and a .912 save-percentage.
LaBarbera leads the Monarchs all-time in playoff appearances (11), minutes played (705:14) and wins (6) in a season.
Manchester netminder Barry Brust has won two games for a goals-against-average of 1.81 and a save-percentage of 0.936.
