Iowa Chops News Release
FRISCO, TX - Schlegel Sports Group today announced that the Iowa Stars will join forces with managing and marketing expert Global Spectrum to create better sales, marketing and game entertainment packages for the fans. In addition to new Gold Club Memberships - which will offer all inclusive food and beverage packages - there will be a new pricing structure to make Iowa Stars games more affordable, family friendly entertainment.
As part of the restructuring efforts, the Iowa Stars have reached an agreement with John Olver to serve as the organization's General Manager. Mr. Olver will commence his duties on June 1. Outgoing President John Pettit will continue with Schlegel Sports in a consulting position. Olver will work directly with Matt Homan, General Manager for Global Spectrum. Kirby Schlegel, owner of Schlegel Sports, will serve as interim President of the Iowa Stars effective immediately.
"We're excited about the venture between the Iowa Stars and Wells Fargo Arena," said Matt Homan, General Manager for Global Spectrum. "In addition to lowering ticket prices, we're going to hire a full time Director of Game Entertainment, introduce an all inclusive food and beverage package to the corporate community, and continue what has proven to be a highly successful Group Ticket offering consisting of a game ticket, hot dog, chips and soda for nine dollars and fifty cents. We're proud to be the first to bring these kinds of improvements to the Des Moines Market."
"We decided it was time to make some changes including a better marketing plan, a better fan experience with lower ticket prices and the right people to implement these changes," said Kirby Schlegel, owner of Schlegel Sports. "Joining forces with Global Spectrum makes perfect business sense."
