Manchester Monarchs News Release

DEFEND THE CAGE

Monarchs rookie goaltender, Charles Williams, has started his first full professional season with a bang, and has posted a 3-1-0-0 record, a 2.22 GAA and a 0.923 save percentage through four games. Williams' GAA ranks fifth among all rookie netminders and his three wins are tied for the league lead.

NO MORE POWER

If only for one night, the Monarchs stopped the ECHL's top-ranked power-play unit in last night's 5-2 victory over the Swamp Rabbits, and successfully killed six power plays. Despite their bagel last night, Greenville still enters tonight's contest second in the league, converting on 32.0% (8-for-25) of their odd-man advantages.

LET THERE BE SHOTS

You should expect shots on frame tonight, as the Swamp Rabbits (38.00) and Monarchs (37.67) enter third and fourth respectively in average shots on goal across the league. Last night, we saw a total of 82 shots on target, with the Monarchs taking the advantage, 48-34. The 48 shots the Monarchs fired on Halverson set the high-water mark in any single game to this point in the season for Manchester.
