MANCHESTER, NH - The Manchester Monarchs, the top affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, have agreed to terms on a one-year contract with left wing Connor James, Monarchs Director of Hockey Operations Hubie McDonough announced today. Per club policy, terms of the agreement were not announced.
James, 23, appeared in 14 games with the Monarchs, recording three points (2-1=3) and 10 penalty minutes during the 2004-05 season. The 5-foot-10, 170-pound native of Calgary, Alberta, played a majority of last season with the ECHL's Bakersfield Condors, registering 46 points (21-25=46) and 34 penalty minutes in 51 games. Selected by the Kings in the ninth-round (279th overall) in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, James attended the University of Denver, collecting 150 points (57-93=150) in 160 games over four seasons (2001-04).
