
Mollenhauer Hits For Cycle In 10-4 Win Over Lake County

Kannapolis, NC - Dale Mollenhauer lifted a single into left field in the eighth inning to cap off a cycle in a 10-4 win for the Intimidators (10-5) over Lake County in front of 3,454 fans at Fieldcrest Cannon Stadium.
Mollenhauer started his night with a triple in his first at bat. He was thrown out trying to score. In his second at bat, the East Carolina product grounded into a 6-4-3 double play. Mollenhauer came to bat again in the fifth inning and drilled a two-run home run down the right field line. In the sixth inning, he doubled down the first base line to plate two. Mollenhauer finished his night with a single to left field in the eighth to make it 4-for-5 with a single, double, triple and home run. He ended up scoring three runs and driving in four.
Kannapolis broke out to a 3-0 lead in the first with RBI singles from Christian Marrero to score Eduardo Escober and Sergio Morales brought in Mark Fleisher. The third run in the first inning scored on a wild pitch with Marrero crossing home plate.
With the score tied 3-3 in the fifth, Mollenhauer two-run homer brought in Nick Mahin to make it 5-3. Dale?s double in the sixth made it 7-3 scoring Jim Gallagher and Mahin again. Sergio Miranda drove in Mollenhauer with a two-out single and Mark Fleisher doubled to plate Miranda and make the score 7-3.
In the eighth Miranda drove in his second run of the night with a single to plate Mollenhauer.
Overshadowed by the cycle, Mark Fleisher finished 4-for-4 with a walk, a double and a RBI.
On the mound, Lucas Harrell earned the win (1-1) with 5.0 innings giving up three runs on six hits.
The Intimidators continue the homestand with the Lake County Captains tomorrow night. The two play the third of four games with postgame fireworks. There are also fireworks on Saturday. For tickets call 704-932-FANS or go online to intimidatorsbaseball.com.
