Portland Timbers News Release
PORTLAND, Ore. - The Portland Timbers today launched a new website as part of the team's Major League Soccer debut in 2011. The Timbers and MLS Digital have constructed an entirely new portlandtimbers.com that will be the leading source for information and content on the Timbers.
With expanded news sections and more features, the new portlandtimbers.com will be home to more unique content than ever before. The club has invested in new writers and photographers to provide in-depth, unique and exclusive content that soccer fans will not be able to find anywhere else.
Additionally, each page is integrated with social networking tools like Twitter and Facebook and users can comment on stories via a Facebook interface built right into the page, allowing the Timbers to further engage supporters of the club. Even fans that do not follow the Timbers on Twitter can catch up on the latest news thanks to a module displaying recent Timbers tweets on the main page.
The new website also has an in-depth section for season-ticket holders, including a virtual seating venue of PGE Park that allows fans to explore the view from any seat in the stadium.
One of the more exciting aspects of the new website is the expansive library of videos and highlights, hosted right on the site. Not only are the videos easier to access, but game highlights will be presented in high-definition.
The new website makes it easier to track games and other important Timbers events with an easy-to-use homepage calendar module located on the main page of the website.
As the Timbers' debut MLS season nears, fans will find an interactive schedule and detailed player pages with new interactive features and links to videos and highlights.
Supporters will be able to pick up all their fan gear through a new online team store function on the site.
Every match day, the new portlandtimbers.com will be home to match previews, match notes and match recaps, in addition to instant highlight videos.
