Cedar Rapids Kernels News Release
July 9, 2005 - The Cedar Rapids Kernels, in conjunction with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, announce that pitcher Mitch Arnold has been activated from the DL and will join the team in Davenport when the Kernels take on the Swing of the Quad Cities at 7 pm tonight.
To make room on the roster, pitcher Miguel Gonzalez has been reassigned to the Mesa Angels of the Arizona League.
Arnold has been on the DL since April 23rd, when he was placed there with medial elbow pain. He has been rehabilitating the injury at the Angels' Extended Spring Training complex in Mesa, AZ.
Miguel Gonzalez appeared in twelve games for the Kernels, all out of the bullpen. He had a 1-2 record with one save in 19 innings. He also allowed 25 hits and 19 runs (16 earned), walked only four and struck out 16.
This roster move leaves the Kernels at the Midwest League maximum of 25 players.
