Missions Begin Seven-Game Home Stand Today

San Antonio Missions News Release


San Antonio - The Missions begin a seven-game home stand against the Frisco RoughRiders (Texas Rangers) beginning today thru Monday, August 1 before hosting the Corpus Christi Hooks (Houston Astros) for three games from Tuesday, August 2 thru Thursday, August 4.

San Antonio enters the home stand tied with the Class-A San Jose Giants of the California League for the best overall record in all of minor league baseball at 69-34. The Missions 39-11 home record is tops in all of the minors, while their 20-13 second-half record is the best in the Texas League.

This season the Missions are 13-7 against Frisco (9-3 at home) and 15-4 against Corpus (8-0 at The Wolff).

San Antonio has hit 124 home runs this season and they are now just nine long balls away from tying the single-season record for most homers hit by a Missions team in the Wolff Stadium era (1994-present). The 2007 club hit 133 on their way to the Texas League Championship. The overall franchise record is 171 established in 1925.
