Wave Notes: *The Wave is now 113-38 (.748) in its last 151 regular and post-season outings.

*The Wave's back-to-back home losses to KC on 2/5 and Phi on 2/8 were the first consecutive home losses for Milwaukee since it dropped its first two home games of the 2000-01 season. Prior to that, the Wave had not lost consecutive home games since the 1994-95 campaign.

*The 12/31 contest v. Monterrey was Coach Keith Tozer's 500th game as coach of the Wave. Now in his 12th season with Milwaukee, Tozer is just the third coach in North American indoor soccer history to guide one team for as many games. Only Kenny Cooper (751 games with Baltimore) and Ron Newman (701 games with San Diego) have coached more games with a single franchise.

*Assistant Coach Steve Morris made his professional head coaching debut on 12/6 @ Bal. He stepped in for Keith Tozer, who was coaching the U.S. Futsal Team in Anaheim, CA.

*Milwaukee's 9-8 (OT) loss on 12/6 @ Bal broke a five-game overtime winning streak for the Wave dating back to the 2001-02 campaign. Milwaukee was 4-0 in extra-session games last year and 1-1 the year before.

*The Wave's 6-5 (OT) loss on 2/5 v. KC dropped the Wave's all-time overtime record to 25-31, including 18-11 at home. It was Milwaukee's first OT loss at home since a 10-8 setback to the Montreal Impact on 3/6/99. Prior to that, the Wave has won four straight home overtime contests.

*The 15 goals on 11/14 v. KC is the fourth highest total in team history. The Wave team record for most goals in a contest is 18, set on 12/6/98 v. Cle.

*Michael King's goal on 2/8 v. Phi was the 668th of his career moving him past Andy Chapman into sixth place on the all-time indoor soccer list of goal scorers. Cleveland's Hector Marinaro is the all-time leader with 1215.

*Troy Dusosky and Marcelo Fontana each scored a goal to record the 150th point of their respective careers (regular season) in Milwaukee's 6-2 win over Monterrey on 12/31 @ Mil.

*The Wave's "Twin Tandem" - Todd and Troy Dusosky - has now combined for 286 goals (Todd 199 + Troy 87) and 309

assists (Todd 241 + Troy 68) for 595 points (Todd 440 + Troy 155), good for tenth on the all-time indoor soccer brothers scoring list (see below). The Dusoskys (Todd 391 + Troy 66 = 457) are also the highest scoring brother pair in Wave history ahead of the White brothers (Pat 165 + Erik 9 = 174).

All-Time North American Indoor Soccer Brothers Scoring List** (thru 2/8/04)

**highest scoring pairs of brothers

4. Daryl (869) + Don (1) Doran = 870

10. Todd (440) + Troy (155) Dusosky = 595

11. Michael (503) + David (31) Richardson = 534

*Joe Reiniger has tallied at least one point in 14-of-22 games so far this season and 345-of-366 career NPSL / MISL regular season contests. Reiniger still holds the league's second longest scoring streak at 105 straight games (ended on 3/17/02).

*Greg Howes current indoor consecutive games played streak is currently 148 straight (regular season and playoffs). It's the Wave's longest active streak, and the third longest streak in team history following Michael King (161) and current Wave Assistant Coach Steve Morris (155).

*Goalkeeper Dan Green set a personal record by not allowing any goals in the Wave's 7-1 victory over St. Louis on 1/31 at U.S. Cellular Arena. The 31-year old Waukesha, WI native stopped all six shots that he faced in the contest; however, the Steamers scored while he was in the penalty box. Green's scoreless streak eventually ended at 78:13 on 2/8 v. Phi.

Last Week's Recap:

2/5 @ Milwaukee Comets 6, Wave 5 (OT) Attendance – 3,014

Nate Houser fired home his second goal of the night from just inside the penalty area at 3:14 of overtime to lift the Kansas City Comets past the Milwaukee Wave 6-5 Thursday night (2/5) at U.S. Cellular Arena. The win improved Kansas City's record to 9-15 while the Wave, which saw its four-game winning streak as well as its undefeated mark at U.S. Cellular Arena (9-0) come to an end fell to 17-5. Kansas City also raised its overtime mark to 5-1 while the Wave dropped to 1-2. The Comets also evened the season series between the clubs at two games apiece.

Houser's goal capped off a Kansas City comeback which began with his first of the night at 9:34 of the third quarter to end a four-goal Milwaukee run that had put the Wave up 4-1. Jeff Davis followed with a goal at 10:27 of the third to make it 4-3 before Jamar Beasley evened the score at 4-4 with a goal at 1:19 of the fourth quarter.

The Wave went back on top (5-4) on a goal by Lovelace Ackah at 2:45 of the fourth period, but the Comets answered on a goal by Matt Tanzini at 3:46. Houser's overtime game-winner came after the Wave nearly won it in the first minute of the extra period on a couple of chances inside the Kansas City penalty area.

Chris Damico (3-5) posted the win by stopping 8-of-13 shots faced. Nick Vorberg (7-3) took the loss despite turning away 12-of-18.

/8 @ Milwaukee Kixx 5, Wave 4 Attendance – 6,902

Goalkeeper Peter Pappas registered 22 saves to anchor the Philadelphia defense while forward Joel Shanker scored a pair of goals to lead the Kixx (15-8) to a 5-4 win over the Milwaukee Wave (17-6) Sunday afternoon (2/8) at U.S. Cellular Arena. A season-high crowd of 6,902 saw the Wave drop its second straight home game giving Milwaukee consecutive home losses for the first time since the Wave lost its first two home games of the 2000-01 season.

Milwaukee scored first when Michael King tallied at 5:20 of the first quarter from the middle of the penalty area off a slight touch by Chris Morman following a re-start pass from Joe Reiniger. Kevin Sloan answered for Philadelphia at 10:22 off a re-start pass from Goran Vasic.

Andy Guastaferro gave the Kixx its first lead with a 25-foot blast that hit the crossbar and went over the line at 0:30 of the second quarter. Greg Howes tied it up (2-2) for Milwaukee when he scored a power play goal at 5:45. The Wave was initially awarded a penalty kick after Jeremy Aldrich was call for a holding penalty on Howes at 3:46, but Pappas was able to stop King's attempted conversion.

Shanker's power play goal at 8:26 of the second quarter gave Philadelphia a 3-2 lead while the Kixx enjoyed a two-man advantage. The Kixx had initially gone on the power play when Semir Mesanovic was penalized for holding at 6:48; Philadelphia then went two men up on a controversial elbowing penalty to Lovelace Ackah that resulted in his red card ejection by referee Rich Grady.

The Wave drew even again (3-3) when Leighton O'Brien scored an unassisted goal at 7:55 of the third quarter. Philadelphia quickly responded, however, as Shanker scored his second just 51 seconds later (8:46) to make it 4-3.

Drew Kopp's goal against sixth attacker Todd Dusosky made it 5-3 before Howes tallied again at 14:18 while the Wave was still utilizing an extra attacker. Pappas (14-6) stopped 22-of-26 shots faced as the Kixx prevailed despite a Milwaukee season-high 48 shots. Dan Green stopped 6-of-10, but did not get the decision as the winning goal was scored against Todd Dusosky (0-1).
