GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK

Peter Pappas, Philadelphia KiXX

Pappas earns his second straight Goalkeeper of the Week nod and League-high fifth of the season after going 2-0 with an .868 save percentage and 3.50 goals against average as the KiXX defeated the Baltimore Blast and Milwaukee Wave, both division leaders, on consecutive days. The 31-year-old turned 23 of 26 shots faced in a convincing 9-3 win over the Blast at home on Saturday, February 7, and was just as strong on Sunday, saving 22 of 26 shots in a 5-4 win over the Wave at U.S. Cellular Arena. The native of Toronto, who was named to his seventh All-Star team last week, is currently third in the MISL with a 4.38 goals against average, is tied for second with 14 wins, and leads the League in saves (304) and save percentage (.776).

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Pat Morris, Philadelphia KiXX

Morris not only blocked nine shots in Philadelphia's two weekend wins, he stood as the team's leading scorer with five points (goal, four assists). He recorded a goal and three assists and blocked four shots in Philadelphia' s 9-3 win over Baltimore on Saturday, and followed up with an assist and five rejections as the KiXX downed the Wave 5-4 on Sunday in Milwaukee. Morris, who like Pappas was named to the MISL USA All-Star team last week, is second in the League with 55 blocks, and has now scored 13 goals and 21 points in 23 games in 2003-04. The Philadelphia native was also named Defensive Player of the Week on December 29 and January 12, and earned Defensive Player of the Month honors for January.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Dino Delevski, Kansas City Comets

The reigning MISL Most Valuable Player and Spalding Scoring Champion wins his first weekly award of the season after scoring five goals and assisting on two others for seven points as the Comets went 2-1 last week. The 27-year-old started his week with two goals in the Comets' 10-7 loss to Baltimore last Wednesday, February 4, and assisted on one score as Kansas City upset the Milwaukee Wave 6-5 on Thursday night at U.S. Cellular Arena. Delevski saved his best performance for last, finishing with three goals and an assist for four points as the Comets slid past the Dallas Sidekicks 10-9. Delevski's score at 13:23 of the fourth served as the game-winner. For the season, Delevski now ranks fourth in the League with 41 points, and sits second with 30 goals. He has scored at least one point in each of his 20 games played in 2003-04. Delevski, a native of Macedonia, will play for the MISL International All-Star team in the 2004 MISL All-Star Game on Sunday, February 29, at the Family Arena in St. Charles, MO.
