FORT MYERS, FL (August 2, 2006) - The come from behind victories are becoming old hat for the Fort Myers Miracle these days. For the third time in four games the Miracle used a late inning rally to scratch out a victory, this time four runs over the final two innings did it, as the Miracle defeated the Dunedin Blue Jays 6-5 on Wednesday night at Hammond Stadium.

With the Miracle trailing 3-1 in the sixth inning, Caleb Moore blasted his first home run as a Miracle, a solo shot over the left field wall to cut the deficit to 3-2. The Miracle used another long ball in the seventh, this time from Steve Tolleson, also a solo shot, his third with the Miracle, to tie the game at three.

The Miracle, who improved to 20-17 in the second half, took advantage of the Blue Jay reliever T.J. Gornati in the eighth. Erold Andrus led off with a walk and Jeremy Pickrel replaced him on the base paths. Brandon Roberts, looking to sacrifice him over, did one better and bunted for a base hit. Deacon Burns followed with a sac bunt to put runners at second and third. After an intentional walk to Trevor Plouffe loaded the bases, David Winfree ripped a single to right that scored two runs and gave the Miracle a 5-3 lead. Brock Peterson followed with a sac fly to give the Miracle a three run cushion, all of which they would need for the ninth.

Chris Schutt, who pitched a scoreless eighth, walked Carlo Cota and gave up a double to Christian Snavely to begin the ninth. Tim Lahey replaced Schutt and he got Jacob Butler and Scott Dragicevich both on RBI ground outs to second. After walking Aaron Mathews, Lahey had to face Robinson Diaz who, at the time, was 4-4 on the night. Lahey got Diaz to ground out to second to end the game and earn his seventh save of the season. Miracle starter Josh Hill, who didn't figure in the decision, was solid going 7.0 innings allowing three runs (one earned) on six hits while walking two and striking out four as the Miracle improved to 7-1 when he starts.

The Miracle now head out on the road for a four game series against the Brevard County Manatees beginning Thursday night at Space Coast Stadium at 7:00 p.m. The Miracle send RHP Kyle Waldrop (2-0, 2.95) to the hill.
