GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - Minnesota United announced today the club has signed MNUFC2 forward Loïc Mesanvi (pronounced loo-eek meh-sahn-vee) to a Short-Term Agreement, making him available for Saturday's MLS Home Opener against the Columbus Crew at 1:00 p.m. CT. This is Mesanvi's second Short-Term Agreement of the season, and is the last time he can be called into the first team for an MLS contest. Last weekend, Mesanvi was signed to his first Short-Term Agreement of 2024 ahead of the match at Austin FC. He made his MLS and Minnesota United first team debut, playing 13 minutes at the end of the 2-1 victory over the Verde and Black.
Mesanvi signed with MNUFC2 in November 2022 from the MNUFC Academy U19 squad. Mesanvi went on to make 18 game appearances (five starts) during 2023 MLS NEXT Pro regular-season action, providing three assists and scoring one goal. While with the U19 side during the summer months of 2022, Mesanvi also trained with MNUFC2. He made two appearances and scored one goal for the Twos in 2022 - with the goal notably scored during his debut match at Timbers 2 on September 11, 2022.
Prior to his time with MNUFC Academy and MNUFC2, the forward played for Lakeville Soccer Club and Minneapolis City Soccer Club of USL2 and NPSL. In high school, the Lakeville South High School graduate notably earned 2021 East Metro High School Boys Player of the Year honors and was also named a 2021 Mr. Soccer Minnesota Finalist.
