LAFC Drops 3-0 Decision to Real Salt Lake in Snowstorm
March 2, 2024 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Los Angeles FC News Release
The Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) suffered its first loss of the season, falling 3-0 to Real Salt Lake Saturday afternoon at a snow-covered America First Field in Sandy, UT.
The match kicked off two hours late due to inclement weather that saw all the elements of wind, rain, snow and lightning affect the match. Most of the match was played in snowy conditions, with players enduring near freezing temperatures brought on by one of Utah's strongest winter storms of the year.
In a driving snow, Real Salt Lake jumped out to a three-goal lead with two first half goals from Andrés Gómez in the 18th and 41st minute and the final goal from Cristian Arango in the 45th.
LAFC returns home for their next match on Saturday, March 9 when they host Sporting Kansas City at BMO Stadium. That game will kick off at 7:30 p.m. PT and will be shown live on MLS Season Pass on Apple TV and on radio on 710 AM ESPN Los Angeles and 980 AM La Mera Mera (Spanish).
