Minnesota Lynx News Release
LYNX VS SKY - TUESDAY, JULY 1 - 7 PM - TARGET CENTER - BOBFM106
The Lynx will take on the Chicago Sky Tuesday night at Target Center. The matchup will be the second meeting between the two teams this season. The Lynx outlasted Chicago 75-69 at the UIC Pavilion back on May 29. Seimone Augustus tallied 19 points to lead Minnesota. With the victory, Minnesota snapped its three-game losing streak against the Sky, dating to a 90-82 triumph on July 19, 2006 at Target Center (the teams' first-ever meeting). Chicago swept last year's two-game series, beating Minnesota twice in a 10-day span during the Lynx' season-opening seven-game losing streak. Chicago comes in to Tuesday night contest with a record of 4-9, good for sixth place in the WNBA's Eastern Conference. Jia Perkins leads the Sky in scoring, averaging 16.8 ppg. Candice Dupree paces the Sky in rebounding (8.4 rpg) and Dominique Canty averages a team-leading 4.7 apg. Chicago first round (second overall) draft pick Sylvia Fowles has missed the past eight games due to a left knee injury. Tuesday's game can be heard on the radio home of the Lynx, BOB FM106. Alan Horton will call the action. After the game the Lynx will trip out west to battle the Los Angeles Sparks on Thursday.

SATURDAY'S LYNX GAME
LYNX LOSE WITHOUT AUGUSTUS
SILVER STARS 73, LYNX 65
Sophia Young scored 20 points and Ann Wauters added 14 points and 10 rebounds as San Antonio fended off a late Lynx challenge to win, 73-65, on Saturday night at the AT&T Center. The Silver Stars never trailed in the contest, jumping ahead 11-2 as Minnesota opened 1-for-10 from the floor. The Lynx closed to within seven midway through the second, but Erin Buescher's trey was followed by a Young layup and San Antonio rebuilt the margin to 39-29 at halftime. Young then scored six unanswered points to start the third quarter, providing the Silver Stars their largest lead of the contest at 45-29. Minnesota chipped that margin down to 10 entering the
fourth, and a Charde Houston putback got the Lynx to within 61-56 with 4:48 to play. However, Minnesota came up empty on its next five possessions, and two Becky Hammon baskets helped boost San Antonio's lead back to 11 with 2:03 left. The Lynx scrambled back to 67-62 in the final minute before Hammon and Buescher combined for six free throws to seal it. Nicky Anosike's 16 points led Minnesota, with Candice Wiggins adding 15 points and six steals, and Kristen Rasmussen contributing 10 points and 11 rebounds.
