JUNETEENTH NIGHT PRESENTED BY B96 - LYNX VS. COMETS - SATURDAY, JUNE 21ST - 7 PM
Fans can come celebrate Juneteenth with the Minnesota Lynx and B96 on June 21st. The annual Juneteenth Celebration commemorates the historic events of June 19th, 1865 when African slaves in Galveston, Texas learned that the Emancipation Proclamation had freed them, two and a half years after the fact. Juneteenth is observed locally and nationally as a day of reflection, empowerment, and preparation for future challenges. The Lynx and B96 will also be at the 2008 Twin Cities Juneteenth Celebration and Festival at Theodore Wirth Park starting at 11 am. There will be free shuttles bringing Juneteenth attendees to the Lynx vs. Comets game at Target Center. Fans can take advantage of the special Juneteenth Night offer and get $30 tickets for only $15.
