This Date in Fever History - June 17, 2003

Natalie Williams helped preserve a win vs. the Charlotte Sting with five blocked shots. That tied the Fever record for blocks in a game and represented the most blocks by any Indiana player in three seasons--since Kara Wolters rejected five shots twice during Indiana's inaugural season (2000).

NEWS & NOTES

- Tamika Catchings made her 2008 debut on Sunday, June 15, vs. San Antonio, scoring two points with a rebound and a steal in 12 minutes. Catchings had not played since tearng her right Achilles' tendon in Game 3 of the 2007 Eastern Conference Finals vs. Detroit, Sept. 3.

- With her 10 rebounds and 10 points vs. San Antonio on Sunday, Ebony Hoffman registered the second double-double of her career, both of which have come this season. Hoffman added a team-high four assists against the Silver Stars and she has led the team in assists three time this season.

- In the game at San Antonio on Wednesday, June 11, Allison Feaster scored six points on 2-3 from 3-pt range. Those were her first 3-pointers of the season and the first of those two was the 350th 3-pt FG of her career. She was just the eighth player in league history to reach that milestone.

- In addition to scoring 11 points in the Fever's second road win of the season at Atlanta, June 13, Katie Douglas also handed out a team-high seven assists. That is the most assists for any Fever player this season.

- The Fever had six players that each had at least two steals at Atlanta and the team totaled a season-best 15 thefts against the Dream. Tan White led Indiana with a career-high five steals, the most by any Fever player this season.

- Sherill Baker has scored seven or more points in four of the last five games and has led the Indiana bench in scoring in each of those four games. In the last five games, she has shot 8-19 from the field and 17-21 from the foul line. She had no steals in any of her first three appearances for the Fever, but has had at least one in each of the last three games.

- As a continuing effort of Pacers Sports & Entertainment, the Indiana Pacers and the Indiana Fever to support recent flood and tornado victims in Indiana, Fever forward and two-time WNBA All-Star Katie Douglas will visit an American Red Cross storm shelter on Tuesday, June 17. Douglas is a native of Indianapolis' south side where flooding has been prominent. Douglas' objective simply is to raise morale and encourage donations to the American Red Cross. She will visit the American Red Cross shelter American Red Cross Shelter for recent flood victims located at the Johnson Center for Fine Arts at Franklin College (101 Branigin Blvd, Franklin, Ind.) where she will sign autographs and encourage the giving of donations to the American Red Cross at the Fever's home game vs. New York on Wednesday, June 18.

- Every time the Indiana Fever's Tammy Sutton-Brown grabs a rebound this season, she will be doing more than just helping the her team. She will also be supporting Athletes for Africa. The two-time WNBA All-Star will be making a $10 donation for every rebound she collects in 2008, and she will be encouraging WNBA fans everywhere to also lend their support. Athletes for Africa is a charitable organization that has focused its efforts on building a global network of people committed to promoting and protecting human rights, and providing education and opportunities that empower youth in Africa. Athletes for Africa's mission is to leverage the positive behaviors and profile of sport to engage youth and educate them about issues facing the people of Africa; partner with, and fundraise for organizations that foster local empowerment in Africa; and advocate to ensure that human rights are remembered and protected.
